GOOD NEWS...

On the road to Emmaus, some disciples of Jesus Christ walked down with so much despair and despondency, the feeling of disappointment has just shattered their dream of a restoration of the kingdom to Israel.The traumatic and confusing event of his betrayal, crucifixion and burial was indeed a sad moment for the disciples having left everything to follow Christ for three and half year. The feeling was unexplainable because to them all hope was lost, they also felt the guilt of abandoning Him. Peter also now in hiding after denying Him three times as Jesus said he would, has now become sorrowful. Judas who betrayed him just committed suicide. I can imagine what a sad moment that would have been for them all. With all the grief going through their minds, they forgot He(Jesus) spoke of His resurrection. The next day being Sunday, Mary of Magdala and other women visited the tomb were He was buried and to their amazement Christ was risen, He was no longer in the grave. The women could not contain their joy of this GOOD NEWS, they ran to tell Peter and others that He has risen from the dead. The disciples on the road to Emmaus encountered Him unknown to them, they were chatting with the Master they were feeling bereaved of. Only after He has opened their eyes to know who He was were they filled with joy of the GOOD NEWS of his resurrection. I don't know the kind of sad event(s) you are going through right now but I pray for you, whatever has made you sad shall turn to GOOD NEWS in the Matchless name of Jesus Christ.
